Presidents Challenge 2017
New Forest Runners President’s Challenge 2017
Do you have a running goal for 2017 that you are trying achieve? Do you need some extra motivation?
Submit your personal running challenge for 2017 to Michael McCabe email firstname.lastname@example.org. It could be a PB over a specified distance or a specified time in a competitive race. It could be the completion of a total number of events, e.g. ParkRuns, RR10s, HRRL races …, or the running of your first marathon. Up to 26 challenges will be approved. If you achieve your goal then £10 will be donated to Brain Tumour Research http://www.braintumourresearch.org/ on your behalf. A total fund of £262 will be available if all the challenges are completed.
Why fund Brain Tumour Research?
- More people under 40 die from a brain tumour than any other cancer.
- 20% of all cancers spread to the brain.
- Brain tumour research receives less than 1% of national cancer research spending in the UK.
The University of Portsmouth, where Michael works, is a Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence. Prof Geoff Pilkington leads an internationally recognised research team which is making progress towards conquering the disease.
All members of the New Forest Runners are eligible to enter. Donations will only be made to Brain Tumour Research if approved challenges are successfully completed, so submit your entries now! First come, first served.
